You Are Welcome Here, Exactly As You Are
This is a space to reconnect with yourself, your body, and what matters most to you, while supporting healing, growth, and meaningful change.

How I Can Help
Our work together is flexible and shaped around you and your needs.
Perhaps you feel that pushing through or holding it together isn’t working anymore.
You might feel overwhelmed, disconnected from your body, or stuck in patterns that no longer feel right.
You may be navigating stress, pain, or uncertainty, sensing that something inside needs care — or simply wanting personal growth.
Our time together offers you a supportive space to slow down, reconnect, and feel more ease, steadiness, and joy over time.
You are welcome here, exactly as you are.

Complimentary 15-Minute
Connection Call
I welcome you to book a complimentary 15-minute call so we can get to know each other.
Your well-being matters deeply, so I invite you into this space to learn about my approach and to explore whether working together feels like a good fit.
This call is a simple, informal way to connect, clarify logistics, and explore next steps before booking a full session.
If you would prefer to connect directly, you’re welcome to call or text me at (778) 982-0586.
If you already feel ready, you’re welcome to book an intake session directly without a connection call.
Areas of Support
Remember, you are welcome here, exactly as you are. Grounded in lived experience and extensive professional training, I hold a steady, intentional space where you can reconnect and restore your relationship with Self.

The Experience
Our journey together is flexible. What we focus on depends on what you’re experiencing, what feels most supportive, and how you’re arriving that day.
We may spend time in conversation, creating space to explore emotions, relationships, patterns, and life experiences. At times, we may also draw on gentle practices involving movement, breath, and awareness to support connection with your body. Everything is adapted to your comfort and needs, with no expectation to “do it right.” Your consent, sense of safety, and pacing guide our work throughout.
When it feels supportive, I may suggest simple practices between sessions to help carry what we explore into daily life. These practices are shaped collaboratively and adjusted over time. My approach is trauma-informed and focused on your overall well-being. It does not replace medical or specialist care, but can be a supportive part of your overall health and healing.

Meet Jessica
I am a Kinesiologist and a Certified Yoga Therapist, and I have completed a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I am in the process of completing registration with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and provide psychotherapy services under clinical supervision.
I hold professional memberships with the British Columbia Association of Kinesiologists, the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and Yoga Alliance.
This rich experience allows me to offer care that is thoughtful, ethical, and responsive to the whole person — drawing from psychotherapy, movement science, and contemplative practice in ways that are gentle, integrated, and grounded in safety.
My Master’s thesis explores the integration of yoga therapy and psychotherapy as an embodied clinical approach. You can access the published thesis here.
What's Behind the
Name Seahorse & Soil?
Together, Seahorse & Soil points to an approach grounded in patience, attunement, and respect for timing.
Seahorse & Soil reflects the qualities that shape how this work unfolds.
Seahorses are sensitive, relational creatures. They move slowly, anchor themselves within strong currents, and stay oriented to the present moment rather than resisting or forcing change. With eyes that move independently, they are able to take in more than one perspective at a time, a reminder that complexity can be held with steadiness and care.
Soil represents grounding, nourishment, and the conditions that allow growth to emerge over time. It offers support and stability, creating a base from which change can take root naturally.
This experience invites the integration of movement and stillness, strength and softness, insight and lived experience, all in service of a more connected and embodied way of being.

My Approach to Therapy
I understand human experience as complex and layered, so this work is not about fixing or forcing change, but about slowing down, paying attention, and allowing clarity to emerge.
At the heart of my work are compassion, non-judgement, and humility. My approach is open and reflective, leaving space to explore meaning and connection as they show up in different ways. I view suffering not as a flaw to be corrected, but as a human response to lived experience. Healing unfolds through restoring relationship with the body, with others, and with what matters most to you.
I recognize the body as a source of wisdom and support change through lived experience, not talk alone. Within a safe and supportive space, the body is treated with respect, as an ally in the ongoing process of growth and becoming.

Individual Sessions
I offer individual sessions that are integrative, trauma-informed, and tailored to the whole person.
An extended first session designed to support a thoughtful and grounded beginning to our work together.
Designed to support steady momentum in your therapeutic process, integrating psychological insight with embodied awareness.
An extended session offering additional space for slower pacing and experiential application.
Session Packages
For those seeking ongoing or deeper work, session packages are available. Packages are designed to support continuity and integration over time and can be especially helpful for regulation, trauma-informed work, or personal growth.
A supportive starting container for establishing safety, rhythm, and direction. Well-suited for stabilization, re-orientation, or transitioning into this therapeutic approach.
An extended container for ongoing support, deeper integration, or long-term personal growth. Sessions may be scheduled weekly or bi-weekly, depending on needs and availability.
For those who benefit from extended session time and deeper exploration, especially when work unfolds more comfortably with additional space.
FAQs
What is Yoga Therapy?
The International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) defines yoga therapy as:
“The professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalized assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management, and yoga practices for individuals or small groups."
Yoga therapy is not the same as a yoga class. It is an individualized, collaborative therapeutic process that adapts the tools of yoga to support your health, well-being, and personal goals, guided by your needs and capacity in the moment rather than by set sequences or performance expectations. Practices may include gentle movement, breath, rest, meditation, and supportive lifestyle practices. The focus is on building steadiness, resilience, and self-awareness — not on achieving postures or outcomes.
What is your therapeutic orientation?
A therapeutic orientation refers to the framework that guides how a therapist understands human suffering, healing, and growth. It influences how challenges are explored and the kinds of approaches that may be used in session.
My orientation is integrative and embodied. I draw from person-centred and trauma-informed approaches, integrating psychological insight with somatic practices informed by my background in kinesiology and yoga therapy. When appropriate, a parts-informed lens may also be incorporated to explore the different inner patterns that shape our experience.
At its foundation, this orientation rests on the belief that healing involves both awareness and embodiment.
Do I need previous yoga experience?
No prior yoga experience is required. Many people I work with have never practiced yoga, don’t enjoy yoga classes, or have physical, emotional, or personal reasons for avoiding traditional yoga spaces. Yoga therapy is not about flexibility, strength, or “doing it right.” You’re always invited to share what feels supportive or not, and we’ll work together to find approaches that feel right for you.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever feels comfortable. Clothing that allows you to move comfortably is ideal.
Are sessions held in person, virtually, or both?
Both. Sessions are offered in person and virtually. For virtual sessions, a quiet and private space where you will not be interrupted is essential. Having enough room to sit comfortably and stretch out on the floor is also recommended.
Do psychotherapy and yoga therapy happen in the same session?
The work is integrative and responsive, rather than divided into separate parts. While sessions may draw on both psychotherapeutic and yoga therapy–informed approaches as appropriate, the focus is always on what best supports you in the moment. Administrative clarity around the primary service provided is maintained without interrupting the natural flow of the session.
If you have questions about how sessions are structured or billed, we can discuss this openly before beginning our work together.
Will I be given practices to do between sessions?
Yes — regular practice between sessions can be an important part of this work. When helpful, I’ll suggest simple practices to carry what we explore in sessions into daily life. Practices are shaped collaboratively and adjusted over time to fit your life. We’ll always talk openly about what feels realistic and sustainable for you.
Do I need to invest in yoga props?
No — special equipment isn’t necessary. Common household items can be used in place of yoga props. If you’re curious about props or would like recommendations, I’m happy to help, but there’s no expectation to purchase anything.
Is this work only for times of crisis or mental or physical distress?
No. This work is not only for times of crisis or distress. Many people come to support personal growth, deepen self-understanding, or feel more grounded and at ease.
Do you offer receipts for extended health or third-party payment?
Yes. Receipts are provided after each session and may be submitted to your extended health benefits plan or third-party payer, depending on your coverage.
Direct billing may be available through insurers participating in TELUS Health eClaims. At this time, direct billing is only available for services billed under kinesiology. Psychotherapy services are not eligible for direct billing while Jessica’s RCC registration is in progress. Coverage varies by provider and individual plan. Clients are responsible for confirming their eligibility.
I recommend checking with your insurer in advance to understand your coverage and whether direct billing is supported.
